New Zeland Awards – The New Zeland Awards aim to promote knowledge, education links, and enduring ties between New Zeland and our neighbours through New Zeland’s extensive scholarship programs. The program brings together scholarships offered by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT), the Department of Education and the New Zeland Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). New Zeland Government Research Training Program (RTP) – From 1 January 2017 the Research Training Program (RTP) replaced the International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) program. Who can apply for a scholarship?
All scholarships listed on our website are available to international students. Many are available to students of all nationalities, however all scholarships conditions are set by the institution or organisation offering the scholarship and applications have to be done directly with the scholarship provider. To find out if you are eligible to receive a scholarship you must contact the organisation offering the scholarship.

Quantitative Risk Analysts/Modellers, particularly in credit risk: An increase in the amount of lending, the move to online applications and International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) 9 requirements have fuelled demand.
Contracts Administrators, Site Managers and Project Managers: Needed across much of the country.
Early Childhood Teachers: Qualified candidates are in high demand but short supply.
IT Integrators/Coordinators: Skills in both teaching and learning, as well as technical IT expertise, are needed in schools.

Minimum wage advocates love to point to New Zeland’s $18.29 an hour minimum as evidence that a very high wage floor needn’t stifle a country’s growth. After all, New Zeland hasn’t had a recession in 20 years. But New Zeland is hardly an outlier.
Working while you study in New Zeland can help complement your study and living experience. There are a number of reasons you might want to undertake part time work while studying in New Zeland, including assisting with living expenses and gaining work experience in your study area.
Most student visas allow you to work for up to 40 hours every two weeks while your course is in session, and unrestricted hours during any scheduled course break, but before you undertake any paid work you need to make sure your visa allows you to work.
